The Kitchen, Inc. Awarded $490,000 to Assist Homeless Veterans

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (August 31, 2016) – The Kitchen, Inc. has once again been awarded a substantial grant from the Veterans Administration under the Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) program. This year’s award totals $491,179.00. The grant will provide temporary financial assistance for rent payments, utility payments, security deposits and moving costs to homeless and at-risk veterans and their families. The Kitchen, Inc. through its Home at Last program will be able to assist approximately 150 households in Greene, Christian and Webster counties. Knights Raise More Than $50,000 for The Kitchen, Inc.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (June 28, 2016) – The Knights of Columbus will be presenting The Kitchen, Inc. with a sizable donation today, Tuesday, June 28, 2016. The check presentation is at 7:00 p.m. during the Knights of Columbus meeting at Holy Trinity Church (Parish Hall), located at 2818 East Bennett in Springfield.   Participants raised $53,757 for The Kitchen, Inc. during this year’s Bowl-A-Thon. Summer Hitting The Kitchen, Inc. Hard

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (June 14, 2016) —Summer has arrived in the Ozarks and many families are hitting the road. However, for some in our community, there’s no vacation from homelessness. This time of year can be a struggle for area agencies. The Kitchen, Inc. is no exception. Donations fall flat, but there’s still a need to provide emergency shelter and other housing options for the area’s homeless. Financial contributions to The Kitchen, Inc. are down $200,000.
