2nd Annual Community Wide Blanket and Coat Drive
October 4th thru November 19th, New Covenant Academy’s Future Business Leaders of America and the Senior Class will be sponsoring the 2nd annual Community Wide Blanket and Coat Drive to benefit The Kitchen, Inc and those families that are displaced in and around the Springfield community. New Covenant Academy is a Christian college preparatory school serving Junior K-12th grades for over 30 years.
““With the change of the seasons the temperature has started to drop. With the Kitchen’s history of helping those in need we know that need is turning to warm coats and blankets” stated Rorie Orgeron, CEO of The Kitchen. So far in 2010 we have seen a 25% increase of people needing assistance with shelter, food, clothing, medical care, over 2009.
Coats and blankets collected will be distributed to women, men and children in the Springfield community who are in need.
As they did last year, Vogue Cleaners has graciously offered to clean every item donated for this cause. Collection bins are located at the following businesses:

New Covenant
Residents of The Kitchen, Inc.'s programs enjoyed New Covenant Academy's Light of the World Christmas party for the first time in 2008. New Covenant Academy has graciously offered to host Light of the World for the residents again in 2009. You can view a video of the event from last year.
