Technology Donations

The Kitchen, Inc. will gladly accept your technology donation! The list below represents in general the items we will accept, but we request that you contact us at for anything that does not appear on the list or if you are unsure as to whether it can be accepted.*

*We kindly request that all technology donations be made to The Kitchen, Inc., rather than a specific program. This helps us make the best use of your generous donation! Thank you!

Computers and Peripherals

    Desktop PCs / Laptops Minimum Hardware Requirements:

  • Pentium 4 Processor or greater / AMD Athlon Processor or greater
  • Minimum 512 MB DDR RAM
  • 40GB Hard Drive or greater (IDE/SATA)
  • Built-in video or add-on video card installed
  • Any number of USB ports
  • CD/DVD reader / writer
  • Network Interface Card (NIC) for connecting to a network environment
  • Wireless capability is requested but not required for a laptop donation

    • Apple Products:

  • Any Intel-based Mac computers**
  • Specialty products such as iPads, iPods, AppleTVs, etc.

**Must be capable of running OSX 10.5 or greater

Monitors

  • LCD monitors of any size
  • No CRT monitors will be accepted at this time
  • VGA / DVI / HDMI cables are welcome

Peripherals

  • Hard Drives, IDE or SATA, 40GB or greater
  • Video Cards, PCI, AGP and PCIe, single or dual-head
  • DVD readers / burners, SATA or IDE (internal/external)
  • USB optical mice
  • Speakers
  • Laser printers, preferrably with network capability, but not required

Networking Equipment

  • Managed network switches, capable of 10/100 or 10/100/1000mbps
  • Wireless routers and access points for business
  • Network security devices, such as hardware firewalls, backup devices and network / email security hardware
  • Home networking products, such as wired / wireless switches and routers will be considered as well

Servers

  • Prefer HP, Dell or IBM equipment, but all will be considered
  • Ultra 320 SCSI drives 36GB 10k RPM or greater
  • SATA drives 80GB or greater
  • SAS drives of any size
  • At least one gigabit NIC required, two preferred

Software and Licensing

  • Windows Server 2008 Software or CALs***
  • Other licensed products will be considered on an individual basis

    • ***Must be legal and valid for use

Other Equipment

  • Networking patch panels / enclosures
  • Cable rack organizers
  • Cable track / runner / raceway
  • CAT 5, 5e or 6 Ethernet cable, in either pre-made or spool form
  • RJ-45 ends for crimping cables
  • Wall plates and termination/punch-downs for Ethernet cable
