SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (Sept. 23, 2016)— Today, The Kitchen, Inc. celebrated the ground breaking of McClernon Villas, a housing development which helps meet one the our community’s most critical needs—affordable permanent housing.
The opening of Beacon Village II is a milestone in this community’s progress toward ending homelessness. It provides an additional 32 units of affordable permanent housing for income-qualified individuals and families, including eight units for formerly homeless families.
After spending nearly six months homeless, Joyce Jewel moved four different times in the span of two years before finding a place she can now call home.
A recent grant totaling more than $490,000 awarded to The Kitchen, Inc. is helping homeless veterans here in the Ozarks like Michael Raymond.
