Summer has arrived in the Ozarks and many families are hitting the road. However, for some in our community, there’s no vacation from homelessness. This time of year can be a struggle for area agencies. The Kitchen, Inc. is no exception. Donations fall flat, but there’s still a need to provide emergency shelter and other housing options for the area’s homeless. Financial contributions to The Kitchen, Inc. are down $200,000.

The community’s help is requested in providing life’s necessities to individuals and families. The Kitchen, Inc.’s need for certain hygiene, household and food items has increased as more individuals and families are being benefited by the organization’s programs in 2016. Between January and March, 414 individuals were being housed in The Kitchen, Inc.’s seven housing programs compared to 385 during the same period in 2015.
