The Kitchen, Inc. will break ground on a new affordable housing development Thursday, July 28 at 11am. The property, located at 550 N Duke Ave, is the future site of Maplewood Villas, a 44-unit affordable housing development designed for low-income and formerly homeless seniors—especially Veterans. The project is funded by The Missouri Housing Development Commission, Bank of Missouri, and CRA Investments. Maplewood Villas will include 44 two-bedroom, one-bathroom units for seniors 55 and older. Sabrina was struggling with addiction and experiencing suicidal thoughts when she entered Mercy’s Marian Center for in-patient treatment at 19 years old. When she exited the treatment program, she was hesitant to return to her mother’s house. They had a rocky relationship made worse by her mental health struggles and addiction. Missouri Homeowners Now Eligible for SAFHR Assistance

The Missouri Housing Development Commission (MDHC) introduced SAFHR for Homeowners, a program that will provide nearly $140 million in needed assistance to homeowners, while also maintaining the rental and utility assistance program. SAFHR for Homeowners is now live at SAFHRForHomeowners.com. Eligible Missourians can receive assistance to get caught up with their primary mortgage by applying in as little as 15 minutes. Eligibility and documentation requirements are clearly outlined at the application link above.
