The Kitchen, Inc. is proud to announce the approved grant for over $20,000, on December 10, 2019.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Springfield, MO – The Kitchen, Inc. is proud to announce the approved grant for over $20,000, on December 10, 2019. The grant was endowed by Springfield Black Tie, Inc. The grant awarded will enable our Rare Breed program to facilitate the focus on welcoming people of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, and sexual orientation. The Rare Breed Housing Program housed a total of 26 youth households in 2018 and spent nearly $110,000 last year to cover rent, utilities, deposits, application fees, and property expenses. When Mercedez came into the Rapid Rehousing Families program through The Kitchen, Inc., she was fighting a meth addiction. After almost a year with the addiction, while still in the program, she had her children removed from her home and became involved in rehab and drug court.
