Need for Hygiene, Food, and Household Items Grows

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. –  The Kitchen, Inc.’s need for certain hygiene, household and food items has increased as more individuals and families are being benefited by the organization’s programs in 2016.

Items wanted include:

  • Sunscreen
  • Diapers (all sizes, particularly 3s,4s and 5s)
  • Baby Wipes
  • 13 Gallon Trash Bags
  • Body Wash
  • Shampoo
  • Laundry Detergent
  • Pop Top Cans of Food
  • Cleaning Supplies (mops, sponges, bleach, Lysol, Pine-Sol)

“These items are needed now more than ever to sustain an adequate supply due to the increased number of people needing assistance,” stated Rorie Orgeron, CEO of The Kitchen, Inc. “It takes a community-wide effort to provide for our children, youth, women, veteran families in need.”

Between January and March, 414 individuals were being housed in The Kitchen, Inc.’s seven housing programs compared to 385 during the same period in 2015.
Donations may be dropped off at The Kitchen, Inc.’s Receiving and Distribution Center located at 420 E. Blaine Street, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
